James Cipolla

About: Cipolla returns for his second season coaching for HEADstrong Lehigh Valley after recently wrapping up his sophomore season at Ohio State, where he is a midfielder for the Buckeyes. A health sciences (pre-med) major, he recorded his first collegiate point – an assist – in his first career game in 2020 against Detroit Mercy.

A four-year letterwinner at Parkland High School, Cipolla was the Allentown Morning Call Player of the Year, ECP All-First Team and MVP in both 2018 and 2019 and the Lehigh Valley and Parkland Press Player of the Year in 2019. The No. 64 ranked player in the nation by Inside Lacrosse and a Pennsylvania Under Armor All-American as a senior, he led Parkland to District 11 championships in 2017 and 2018  and earned EPC All-First Team honors as a sophomore and team Rookie of the Year following his freshman season.

Lehigh Valley Team: Assistant Coach, 2027.

What does HEADstrong mean to you? HEADstrong means a lot to me. In high school I pledged my points my senior year for the HEADstrong foundation raising over $3,000. This year I participated in mustache madness with my team at Ohio State. My mom being diagnosed with cancer in 5th grade really made me want to get involved with HEADstrong because I believe in everything they stand for.
