We understand that there have been questions concerning the Philly Girls Lacrosse program and its future. We have come to the difficult decision to pause operations on the current Philly Girls program. Therefore, there will not be any practices, training, or tournaments through the summer of 2022. This includes the upcoming training at Steelyard on March 10,16, and 23.
All of our other HEADstrong Lacrosse Clubs have experienced tremendous growth and success. We want the same for our Philly Girls program. The girls deserve nothing less. We are strongly considering relocating operations to the Chester County region; and are in the process of recruiting a new highly-qualified General Manager. While we understand this is not optimal news; we believe the timing of this notification will allow adequate time for your daughters to pursue other opportunities this summer.
This was not a decision that was made lightly; but we want to provide families with the best possible lacrosse club experience and believe this will allow us to do that for the long term. If you have any further questions feel free to contact Jon Knowles, Director of Sports Operations, at [email protected].
Please know how much we have appreciated your patience, dedication and past support of this program. Our hope is that you will reconsider the HEADstrong Lacrosse Club once the restructure is in place. Just like our founder, my son Nick’s mantra of never giving up, we are not giving up but rather revamping to improve the girls program. Club details including tryouts for fall 2022 will be announced at a later date.
Thank you,
Cheryl Colleluori
