What does HEADstrong mean to you? I came to know the HEADstrong Foundation at Drexel University when we wore the HEADstrong lime green laces in our season opener against Virginia. This was the first time the laces were worn in a college game and it was a special moment. Nick was my same year but unfortunately I didn’t know Nick outside of his great lacrosse career at Ridley and Hofstra before his passing. I am grateful now that I feel like I knew Nick through his family, The Colleluori’s. After college, I began playing lacrosse with Nick’s brother, Michael, and we forged a relationship on and off the field. I began coaching for HEADstrong and the rest is history. There are countless memories of spending time with Cheryl and the rest of the Colleluori crew that shaped me to my core, especially time spent with the families that HEADstrong works with. The work that the entire HEADstrong Foundation does for those affected by cancer is endless and selfless. It has had a profound effect on me and I am so glad to be coaching HEADstrong again with my girls in the program.
