Travis was named to the All-Region and All-American Lacrosse teams in his sophomore year at Herkimer Community College. His junior and senior years, Travis was selected to the All-Conference teams for the American East while playing at the University of Hartford. In his senior year he was 2nd in all of Division 1 with 42 goals and 3rd in total points (62). Following his senior year, Eckler was selected to the Division 1 North/South All-Star game and the New England Lacrosse Association East/West All-Star game. In 2003, the Arizona Sting of the National Lacrosse League drafted Eckler.

In Coach Eckler’s seven seasons at Seton Catholic Central they had 81 varsity wins as he built a consistent winner from a fledgling start-up-program. In 2009 he led the Saints to their 1st ever Section 4 Championship and in 2010 an undefeated regular season.

While living in Lehigh Valley, PA Travis coached for HEADstrong Lacrosse Club and Varsity Boys for one of PA’s top High School lacrosse programs, Parkland Trojans. His HEADstrong 2022 team reached the USlacrosse National Qualifier and won the Trilogy Rider Cup AA division.  As offensive coach for Parkland, the Trojans were EPC Champions, 20-1 Record, averaging 12 goals per game. Travis coached 2x Lehigh Valley League MVP James Cipolla (Ohio State).  Coach Eckler also helped develop many players who now play collegiate lacrosse. (Hopkins, High Point, Cabrini).   

Travis now lives in the Rochester, NY area with his wife and 4 children.
